Japanese Larch is my #1 species for bonsai. I love the way it grows and the fact that it is a deciduous conifer. You get some of the benefits of both! They can get very twiggy, and do not mind having their roots worked when they are young. The spring growth on larch is almost unmatched.
This tree is around 4 years old and has been in the grow beds for the last 2.
The nebari is around 1".
